It may surprise you to know that we weatherd the covid storm in relative safety this year. We managed an online exhibition in April, with this literal winning entry review in Art and Market by reviewer Susan Htoo. We had to close our space to the public but were able to keep our team employed and working on translation and archiving. In August, we applied for the German government-sponsored Covid relief fund for art spaces worldwide and were awarded a grant to cover our rental costs as well as pursue a project we have long aspired to complete – the MARCA archive online. In other words, an online platform mapping and tracking the history of contemporary art in Myanmar.

We do not yet know what 2021 will bring but we can promise you one thing – we will be here for the artists of Myanmar.
