“The texts what I draw are called flower letters” Y.E 2 expressed and laughed. Over the course of his life, he spent the half of his life by writing calligraphy letters. Y.E 2 loves Burmese letters very much. He believes that Burmese alphabets have more power than we can see. Y.E 2 and his creative letters were thrown together through the streets, railways and teashops. His fame reaches to the extent whenever someone says calligraphy, the name “Y.E2” comes to mind – an artist that patiently forms his lettering. In this exhibition, Y.E2 and his signature caligraphy is brought to the gallery.

“ငါဆွဲတာ တွေက ပန်းစာလုံး တဲ့ဟ ” Y.E 2 က ပြောပြောပြီး ရယ်ပါတယ် ။ ငါးနှစ်၊ ဆယ်နှစ်၊ ဆယ့်ငါးနှစ်။ သူ့ဘဝ ရဲ့ သက်တမ်းတဝက်ကျော်ကို ကယ်လီဂရပ်ဖီ စာလုံးတွေ ရေးရင်းပဲ ဖြတ်သန်းခဲ့ပါတယ် ။ Y.E 2 က မြန်မာစာလုံးတွေကို ချစ်ပါတယ်။ မြန်မာဗျည်းအက္ခရာ မှာ မျက်စိနဲ့မြင်ရတာထက်ပိုတဲ့ စွမ်းအား တွေ ရှိတယ်လို့ Y.E 2 က ယုံကြည်တယ် ။ လမ်းမတွေပေါ်မှာ၊ ရထားလမ်းတွေမှာ၊ ရပ်ကွက်ထဲက လက်ဖက်ရည်ဆိုင်တွေမှာ Y.E 2 ဟာ သူ့စာလုံး တွေနဲ့ အတူတူလွင့်ခဲ့၊ မျောခဲ့ပါတယ် ။ မြန်မာပန်းချီလောက မှာ ကယ်လီဂရပ်ဖီ ဆို Y.E2 ကို အရင်ဆုံးပြေးမြင်ကြတဲ့အထိ Y.E 2 တစ်ယောက် တစ်စိုက်မတ်မတ် စိတ်ရှည်ရှည် စာလုံးတွေကို ပုံဖော်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ တစ်ယောက်တစ်မျိုးမှာလည်း Y.E 2 ဟာ သူ့စာလုံးတွေနဲ့ အတူ ပြခန်းဆီ ချည်းနင်းဝင်ရောက်လာတာကို မျက်ဝါးထင်ထင် မြင်တွေ့ကြရမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

Min PK is an intern from University of Medicine in Magwe. In ‘တစ်ယောက်တစ်မျိုး’ (Tayout Tamyo) exhibition, he is not an intern from Magwe but he is now an artist. He left his job and all daily routine in Magwe and he has come to Yangon with paintings. Every time he came to Yangon, he brings his paintings. Min PK depicts his paintings with dreamy and beautiful colors. The narration of Les Fleurs du Mal (Flower of Evil) poem and his expression can be seen in this works.

Min PK ဟာ မကွေးမှာတော့ အလုပ်သင်ဆရာဝန်ပါ။ ‘တစ်ယောက်တစ်မျိုး’မှာတော့ မကွေးမှ Min PK မဟုတ်တော့ဘူး။ အခု မကွေးကနေ ရန်ကုန်ကို ပန်းချီကားတွေနဲ့ အတူလာပါတယ်။ သူ့ရဲ့ အလုပ်နဲ့ နေ့စဉ်ဘဝကို မကွေးမှာ ချန်ခဲ့ပြီး ရန်ကုန်ကိုလာတဲ့အခါတိုင်း သူဟာ ပန်းချီးကားတွေကို ယူဆောင်လာပါတယ်။ ဒီစီးရီးမှာတော့ Min PK ဟာ အိပ်မက်ဆန်ပြီး လှပတဲ့အရောင်တွေနဲ့အတူ သူ့ရဲ့ ပန်းချီတွေကို ပုံဖော်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အခုပုံတွေမှာ Les Fleurs du Mal ဆိုတဲ့ ကဗျာထဲက အကြောင်းအရာတချို့နဲ့ Min PK ရဲ့ စိတ်ထဲက အခြေနေတချို့ကို တွေ့ရမှာပါ။

At the tea shop

Satan always walks down the street with two things, a bike and spray paints. He goes freely with a bag of dreams, imagination and inspiration. He creates graffiti. He believes that it is enough if the painter is just painting. Satan could not be found on the social media but he can be seen on the roads, in the streets, railways and bridges. You have to follow his dreams to see him. The graffiti piece with a person on the whale on Maynigone bridge is Satan. He can be seen as a person who sits amongst his friends at a tea shop but is quietly sketching. He shows these works which address today’s tea shop culture in oil paintings.

စေတန် ဟာ စက်ဘီးတစ်စီးရယ် မှုတ်ဆေးဘူးတွေရယ်နဲ့ လမ်းမတွေပေါ်လျှောက်သွားနေသူ။ အိမ်မက်တွေ၊ စိတ်ကူးတွေ အပြည့်နဲ့ သူဟာ လွတ်လွတ်လပ်လပ် ပျံသန်းနေသူပါ။ စေတန် ဟာ ဂရက်ဖက်တီ ဆွဲပါတယ်။ ပန်းချီဆရာ ဟာ ပန်းချီပဲဆွဲနေရင် လုံလောက်ပြီလို့ စေတန် က ယုံကြည်တယ်။ စေတန်ကိုမြင်ချင်ရင် လူမှုကွန်ယက်တွေပေါ် ရှာလို့မရပါဘူး။ သို့ပေမယ့် လမ်းမတွေပေါ်ထွက်ရပါတယ်၊ ရထားလမ်းတွေပေါ်သွားရပါတယ်၊ သူကိုတွေ့ချင်ရင် သူ့အိမ်မက်တွေနောက် အမှီလိုက်ရပါတယ်။ မြေနီကုန်း တံတားပေါ်က ဝေလငါးစီးနေသူဟာ စေတန်ပါပဲ။ လက်ဖက်ရည်ဝိုင်းမှာ စကားဝင်မပြောဘဲ စာရွက်တစ်ရွက် နဲ့ ပုံရေးနေသူဟာ စေတန်ပါပဲ ။ ဒီပြပွဲမှာ တွေ့ရတဲ့ ဒီနေ့ခေတ် လက်ဖက်ရည်ဆိုင် ယဉ်ကျေးမှု ပုံရိပ်တွေကို ဆီဆေး တွေနဲ့ ဖွင့်ဟသွန်ချ ပြထားသူဟာလည်း စေတန်ပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ လက်ဖက်ရည်ဆိုင်တွေမှာ ဘောလုံး၊ နှစ်လုံး၊သုံးလုံး ချဲလ်ထီကအစ အိမ်မက်တွေရဲ့ မြစ်ဖျားခံရာ၊ ချမ်းသာလိုခြင်း အိပ်မက်တွေ၊ အောင်မြင်လိုခြင်း အိပ်မက်တွေ၊ ဖန်တီးမှုတွေ စတင်ရာ နေရာ၊ ချစ်ခြင်းရဲ့ စကားအသံတွေ၊ ကြေမွခြင်းအကြောင်းတရားတွေနဲ့ ပြိုကွဲသံစဉ်တွေကိုကြားရမှာဖြစ်ပြီး ဒီနေ့တွေမှာ နိုင်ငံရေးလှုပ်ရှားမှုအပေါ် ဝေဖန်ခြင်းတွေအစ ပေါ်ပြူလာတီဗီရှိုးတွေအပေါ် အငြင်းပွားကွဲလွဲခြင်းအဆုံး လူမှုမီဒီယာရဲ့ နောက်ဆက်တွဲ အကြောင်းတရားတွေကိုပါ လက်ဖက်ရည်ဆိုင်တွေမှာ ထပ်တိုးမြင်တွေ့ရမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အဲဒီအကြောင်းအရာတွေ အကုန်လုံးကို စေတန်ဟာ သူ့ရဲ့ ကင်းဗတ်အပေါ် ထိထိမိမိ ယူဆောင်လာနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

The people I have met

KueCool has met lots of people – patriarchists, communists, writers, poets, boyfriends and so on throughout her life. She brings elements of these people on canvas, embellished with colors. Often the audience thinks she has a specific message in her depiction of women in her art, but for KueCool she does not intend it. Interesting enough, she does believe that her paintings communicate with her audience in unique ways to each viewer. Kuecool is the first woman graffiti artist in Myanmar. She currently lives in Yangon and she is peacefully and powerfully rebelling against a corrupt society while creating illustrations as well as reading poetry.

ကူကူး
ကူကူးဘဝ မွာ လူေတြအမ်ားႀကီးဆုံခဲ့ရဖူးတယ္။ ပက္ထရီအာခီ စနစ္ကို ေထာက္ခံသူ၊ ကြန္ျမဴနစ္၊ စာေရးဆရာ၊ ကဗ်ာဆရာ၊ လိင္အျမတ္ထုတ္လိုသူ၊ အရင္းရွင္ လူ႔မလိုင္မ်ား၊ ခ်စ္ခင္ရသူ အမ်ိဳးသားအစရွိသျဖင့္ ဆုံခဲ့ဖူးပါတယ္ ။ ကူကူး ဟာ ဒီလူေတြကို ကင္းဗတ္ေပၚျပန္တင္ၿပီး အေရာင္ေတြနဲ႔ ထပ္မံပုံေဖာ္ပါတယ္ ။ ကူကူးရဲ့ အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြမွာ တစ္ခုခု ေျပာစရာရွိေနမယ္လို့ လူေတြကထင္ၾကေသာ္လည္း အဲဒီသုံးသပ္မွုေတြနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္ၿပီး သူအေနျဖင့္ ဝန္ခံျခင္း၊ ျငင္းဆိုျခင္း တစ္ခုမွ မျပဳခဲ့ပါ။ ပန္းခ်ီကားေတြ ကိုယ္တိုင္က သူ႔အစားေျပာျပေပးသြားလိမ့္မယ္လို့ ကူကူးက ယုံတယ္ ။ ကူကူးက ျမန္မာျပည္ ဂရက္ဖက္တီ ေလာက ရဲ့ ပထမဆုံး အမ်ိဳးသမီးလည္း ျဖစ္ပါေသးတယ္ ။ လက္ရွိမွာေတာ့ သူဟာ ရန္ကုန္မွာ ေနထိုင္ၿပီး ဒီဇိုင္းေတြဆြဲရင္း ကဗ်ာေတြဖတ္ရင္း ယိုယြင္းပ်က္စီးေနတဲ့ လူ႔အဖြဲ႕အစည္းကို ၿငိမ္းၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းခ်မ္း ေတာ္လွန္ပုန္ကန္ေနပါတယ္။
